A Bag Filter works by the principle of microfiltration. The liquid is purified in bags by passing small permeable pores. Bag Filters can be used for large amounts of water. The sizes of these pores are between the 1-200 micron.

- Groundwater discharge from construction sites
- Construction and industrial storm water
- Activated carbon, final or pre-filtration
- The removal of hydrocarbons from water, and reverse osmosis
